"I look down at the people and I think about how everybody's got problems. Maybe not a secret government agency on their ass, but, you know... problems. And if I sit up here long enough, I start to feel like I'm just one of those people... a regular girl. ." +++ DA

After My Long Hiatus
It's been so long since I last posted that this seem very alien to me.

What can I say? Life caught up with me and it turns out that i have a lot more things to do. I've recently attended the
Regional Workshop of the Millenium Development Goals for the Asia-Pacific Region
and while I was staying at one of the best hotels in the country, maybe even the world, I was so tired from the workshop that I wasn't able to go to work and opted to sleep off my. I was running after my AST, as a friend put it so aptly - Average Sleeping Time. :)

In any case, I was so afraid during the workshop since it felt a lot like I didn't belong there. I mean, who would have thought I'd be discussing the Philippine situation with the UN Resident Coordinator (Philippines), right?! OMG! It was amazing and even having Jeffrey Sachs - whose work I would only read for classes - do an interactive video conference with us?!!! talk about overwhelming!!!!!

In any case, I survived the workshop and managed copntribute my 2 cents' worth that placed my organization right at the heart of the Philippine policy on MDGs and the Regional forum as well. Free advertisement, what can I say?! I think I may be one of about 4 people on the category of 25-and-under in that workshop, though.

On another note and lest I am unable to post again before I leave at the end of the month, I shall be on my way to Veracruz, Mexico on September 30, 2004. The conference I'm attending starts for me and for about 64 more people on October 1 and ends on October 8, 2004. I hope that my visa will be approved and that the necessary transit visa will be given by the US since the most economical way to travel would be to go through LAX and then get a connecting flight to Mexico City and then another flight to Veracruz.

Hope we all have funa dn work our $%^&# off! :)
